Red Gold nectarine (Prunus persica var. nectarina) is an upright branching deciduous/ornamental fruiting tree. Spring brings abundant bright pink flowers. The leaves are mid green and lance-shaped. Though not large in stature, Red Gold will produce fruit abundantly. The fruit is freestone, tangy honeyed flavor; they are best eaten fresh, right off the tree, with the skin on. They can also be used in baking and preserves.
