Pin Oak (Quercus palustris)
The Pin Oak (Quercus palustris) is a majestic deciduous tree known for its pyramidal shape, glossy green leaves, and stunning fall foliage. This fast-growing tree can reach heights of up to 80 feet and widths of up to 60 feet, making it an ideal specimen for large yards or parks. The Pin Oak is also a popular choice for street trees due to its tolerance for a variety of soil conditions and its resistance to pests and diseases.
In addition to its ornamental value, the Pin Oak also provides a number of benefits for wildlife. Its acorns are a valuable food source for squirrels, deer, and other animals. The tree's branches also provide nesting sites for birds. Pin Oak bark has been used traditionally in Native American medicine to treat a variety of ailments.
