The Fantasia Nectarine (Prunus persica var. nucipersica) is a nice looking tree, a perfect garden or lawn addition, and vigorous, well anchored grower. This cold hardy variety is tolerant of a high water table. In early spring, branches come to life with beautiful and fragrant spring flowers before producing large, oval, yellow with red blushed fruit. The fruit is yellow, freestone, firm with a sweet-tart and firm smooth texture when picked early. It is sweeter and juicier the later the fruit hangs on the tree.

Tree Height: 15-25 feet
Fruit Type: Freestone
Fruit Size: Large
Fruit Shape: Oval
Fruit Taste: Sweet, with a slight tartness
Fruit Color: Yellow with red blush
Cold Hours: 500-600
Fruit Maturity Time: Mid-late July
Flowering Time: Mid-late spring

Pollination:
Fantasia nectarines are self-fertile, which means that they do not need another nectarine tree nearby in order to produce fruit. However, cross-pollination can lead to heavier fruit production. If you choose to plant multiple nectarine trees, it is best to plant at least two different varieties that bloom at the same time. See our Pollination page for more information on cross-pollination varieties and requirements!
