(Salvia coccinea) Native to the southern US. Spikes of red flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies from early summer until frost. Not a culinary type.Â
Perennial in the tropics, usually grown as an annual. Germination: 60-75° F, light required, 10-30 days. Direct sow or transplant after last frost. Ht. 4 ft.
