The Contender peach tree is a popular, cold-hardy, and disease-resistant variety that is perfect for northern orchards (1050 cold hours). It consistently yields large crops of sweet, juicy medium-to-large fruit. The yellow flesh is perfect for eating fresh, canning, or freezing. Contender peaches are known for their excellent flavor and aroma. They are freestone peaches, meaning the flesh separates easily from the pit. The tree blooms with an abundance of showy pink blossoms in the spring.
