Delivery and Shipping

Nonperishable items ship within 48 business hours. Perishable items ship seasonally during mild weather, i.e. winter preorders ship in spring, summer preorders ship in fall.

A deep-rooted, long-lived native warm-season grass, Eastern Gamagrass is a top choice for erosion control, forage, and soil regeneration. Its dense clumps grow 4–6 feet tall and send roots deep into the soil, improving structure and organic matter over time. In silvopasture systems, it's a highly nutritious summer forage with excellent regrowth after grazing or mowing.

Eastern Gamagrass thrives in moist, well-drained soils and full sun. It’s slower to establish than some grasses, but well worth the wait for long-term soil health and resilience.

Best use: Pasture, erosion control, soil building
Sow: Late spring to early summer, when soil is warm
Height: 4–6 ft
Growth window: Perennial; allow extra time to establish
Seeding rate: ~½–1 lb per 1,000 sq ft depending on your coverage needs (requires warm soil and good seed-to-soil contact)
